Quebec Family History Society

The Quebec Family History Society (QFHS) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1977 to foster the study of genealogy among English speaking peoples of Quebec.

Its Library and Heritage Centre is located at 173 Cartier Avenue in Pointe-Claire Quebec.

At this location, you can find an extensive collection of genealogical and historical information from around the world, with digital imaging equipment to make excellent copies of items that are of interest to you.

This information available pertains, not only to Quebec, but to other provinces, the United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and many other countries.  Members can also borrow additional research material from other sources such as the National Archives or other libraries through the QFHS Inter-Library Loan System.

The Library is open most days of the week as well as Wednesday evening, except during the months of July and August, thanks to dedicated volunteer duty librarians.   Workshops and seminars are offered as well as a free Public Lecture series. An International Conference is held every 5 years, the most recent conference having taken place in June 2011. A journal, Connections is published and distributed to members three times a year.
