Journal of Family History

The Journal of Family History is an academic periodical published by Sage Publications in association with the National Council on Family Relations. The current editor is Roderick Phillips of Carleton University in Canada. It has been in continuous publication since 1975. While not a genealogical publication, it is nonetheless of interest to genealogists. The journal examines family and kinship from a variety of social science perspectives. While it does not publish compiled genealogies, case studies or methodological/research tips, it does provide useful historical context for genealogical research, much more so than other periodicals that do not take family and kinship as their sole subject.
