Want to "Hack" this Site?
"Electronic vandals" apparently do not realize how easy it is to un-do the changes they make on the Encyclopedia of Genealogy. System administrators receive e-mail notices of changes within seconds after each change is made by users. A few mouseclicks later the affected page is reverted back to an earlier copy.
Anyone can revert pages back to earlier versions, you do not need to be an administrator to do that. In fact, it is easier and faster to revert back to an earlier page than it is to vandalize a page.
In addition, the administrators have additional daily backup copies stored off-line. In the case of a major system problem, pages can be restored from the off-line copies within a few minutes.
Attempting to create havoc on this web site is a waste of time. Your changes won't last long.
